The Middle Creek National Battlefield (January 10, 1862) is the site of the largest and most significant Civil War battle in Eastern Kentucky. Stroll along two distinct walking paths that are enhanced with informative interpretive panels. These superb panels explain the strategic offensive and defensive measures that were implemented by the Confederate and Union troops. EAST KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER

The East Kentucky Science Center and Planetarium located in Prestonsburg, KY, is part of the Big Sandy Community and Technical College. It contains 40-foot dome planetarium that seats 85 people, a 3000 square foot exhibit hall, a 60 seat classroom, and a gift shop. The newly renovated Planetarium is now one of the most technologically advanced planetariums in the United States. The Science Center is open to the public Tuesday-Friday, 1 PM - 4 PM and Saturday's, noon to 4 PM.
